The Department of Pharmacy at the Nelson Mandela University offers professional undergraduate training for pharmacists, postgraduate degrees in pharmacy and service modules in Pharmacology to various departments at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Our vision is to be the leaders in developing and innovating world class pharmaceutical personnel, products and systems for the benefit of society. Strong relationships with Clinical and Industry stakeholders, allow student placement for Work-Based Learning.

Drug Utilization Research Unit

DURU was established in 1994 as a Research Unit in the
Department of Pharmacy at the University of Port Elizabeth (UPE)
by Prof Ian Wiseman and Dr Ilse Truter doing contract
research for medical aid schemes and administrators.
